Grants in printing history for 2014

The Print­ing His­tor­i­cal Soci­ety awards a num­ber of grant to sup­port research on top­ics relat­ing to the his­to­ry of print­ing, and pub­lish­able reports on archives relat­ing to the his­to­ry of print­ing. The grants sup­port his­tor­i­cal research in print­ing tech­nol­o­gy, the print­ing and relat­ed indus­tries, print­ed mate­ri­als and arte­facts, type and type­found­ing, print cul­ture, and print­ing process­es and design. The max­i­mum award for research fund­ing is £1,000, and that for pub­lish­able reports on archives is £500. In both cas­es grants may be used to cov­er mate­r­i­al or oth­er expens­es, includ­ing trav­el, accom­mo­da­tion, pho­tog­ra­phy, etc.

Appli­ca­tions should be sub­mit­ted to the Chair­man of the PHS Grants and Prizes Sub-Com­mit­tee, Giles Man­del­brote, at giles.mandelbrote@churchofengland.org before the dead­line of 1 April 2014. Awards will be announced at the PHS AGM in late May 2014, for dis­bur­sal the fol­low­ing month.
