Professor John Gennard’s book charting the hundred year history of Graphic Enterprise Scotland and its predecessor bodies, was successfully launched at a reception at the National Library of Scotland. The author skilfully portrays the history of the organisation through its changes of name and a century of technological progress. It explores the changing relationships with the print union and with the printing employers’ organisation based in London. It will be of interest to historians of twentieth century industrial relations, as well as those interested in printing history.
