The working machinery of Monotype’s hot-metal service is housed and operated from the Type Archive in London. The Printing Historical Society is sponsoring an event. It was originally announced that this would be held on Monday 19 January, but it has been postponed and it will now take place on Monday 23 February at the Type Archive in London, repository of the UK National Typefounding Collection, which includes the hot-metal archive of the Monotype Corporation. Further details of this event will be announced on the Society’s website and on the Vanbrugh Press website Events page.
The Type Archive is housed in buildings at 100 Hackford Road, London SW9 0QU. The event will highlight the publication of the Monotype Corporation history, the opening of the Type Archive’s doors to the public in small groups (by invitation and appointment), and a programme of Type Archive events, education and research in 2015.
For more details of the event, and background to the book and the authors see the Vanbrugh Press website.
