The Printing Historical Society is busy planning a conference to mark the 50th Anniversary of its foundation in 1964, to be held on 13 and 14 November 2014. It is expected that the event will be held at the Society’s long-standing home in London, the St Bride Institute.
The conference is entitled Landmarks in Printing: from origins to the digital age, and papers are invited that cover all aspects of the printing arts and industry, including the cultural, practical and technical achievements of the craft. It is anticipated that papers will consider not only the history of the subject, but also its theory and practices. Applicants should submit a 300-word proposal in Word format, together with a short curriculum vitae. Proposals and enquiries should be addressed by 28 February 2014 (email only) to the Hon. Secretary, Francis Cave, at secretary@printinghistoricalsociety.org.uk.
