Car­o­line Archer has writ­ten an arti­cle on the print­ing indus­try dur­ing World War I. She not only looks at the direct effects on the indus­try, for exam­ple as a result of enlist­ment among print work­ers, but also the uses of print in the con­duct of the war, for exam­ple in the pro­duc­tion of maps, pro­pa­gan­da posters, and satir­i­cal mate­r­i­al such as the Wipers Times.
