The archives at the National Trust for Scotland’s printing works in Innerleithen, Robert Smail’s, give a unique insight into the operation of a small business in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Smail’s are in the process of cataloguing and conserving this archive, and have begun put some of this archive online.
Robert Smail’s is open to the public until 31 October, Thursday until Monday Noon-5pm (Sunday 1–5pm). For details and admission prices see the National Trust for Scotland website.
